Amber Glass

Maybe it's because it is Fall ... or maybe because I am nostalgic, but I am really loving amber glass right now.

Amber glass was a big hit in the 1950s and 1960s. I still love the amber glass cake stand my Grandmother passed down to my mother. Every birthday, whether she makes a cake, or buys a cake, it goes on that cake stand. To be honest, if it didn't, I would be devastated.

Today amber glass is making a comeback. We're seeing it as inspiration for wedding and Thanksgiving tables everywhere. The warm, inviting color is the perfect way to update a table for Fall or your living room.

Shine On

Want to add some sparkle and shine to your home? Let's talk metallic.

Metallics are still on trend and we couldn't be happier. Our artists love experimenting with gold, copper and silver foils and paints to add amazing texture to collections.

This is a very easy trend to bring into the home. Add in some sparkling accessories like lamps, vases and pillows for a quick touch of class or go all out on gold-accented wallpaper. Either way, your space will get an instant glam face lift.

Back to Basics: Black and White

There is something so incredibly fabulous about black and white combined together.

Simple, crisp and dynamic, black and white is simultaneously classic and modern. The best part is that it is the perfect neutral background. If you have a black and white space, it is easy to add in a pop of the latest color with a fantastic pillow, art or accessory.  For a glam look, sprinkle in some gold, copper or silver accents.

Make Me Blush

I love the scene from Steel Magnolia's "Pink is my Signature Color". Shelby, played by Julia Roberts, is explaining that her wedding colors are blush and bashful.

Well, it's been 26 years since that fab movie came out and blush is back! Soft shades of pink are popping up on the runway and the home. We're loving this soft romantic look paired with ggold and copper for a truly glam look.

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink

OK OK - it's no secret we love two things: the color pink and the movie Mean Girls. In fact, one of our favorite scenes in Mean Girls combines these 2 things perfectly.

We also LOVE pink in the home. It's soft, feminine and oh so pretty. Whether you like it retro or super glam, pink is versatile. Go big with art, wallpaper and more or just throw in some sweet accents in a blushy hue to get just a kiss of this amazing hue.

Pink comes in all shades, from light and soft pastels to hot, electric fuscias. Pick what you love and really, you can wear pink any day of the week - we do.

Go for Indigo!

Go for Indigo!

Orange may be the new black, but we're loving indigo. This inky, sultry hue is steeped in history and perfect for fashion and the home.

According to a great article on Design Sponge: "The word indigo refers to where the color historically comes from. The word is derived from a Greek term that means “from India.” Indigo cultivation is thought to have existed in the Indus Valley (present-day Pakistan and northwest India) more than 5,000 years ago. They called it nila (meaning “dark blue”), and as good things often do, it spread. By the time European traders arrived in Goa in the early 1500s, Indian indigo was one of the goods they took home (along with embroidered silks and nutmeg and camphor from Indonesia)."

This deep, rich, and some would say "moody' color is amazing in the home. It pairs beautifully with white for a fresh, crisp look. Or, try it with shades of coral for a colorful, yet sophisticated palette.
